Broke and Chic!

We all need a little fashion inspiration every now and then—especially during this time of the year when the weather outside is still frightful, yet the only thing we can talk about is our non-existent spring wardrobe. The snow will end and we’ll all finally be able to wear shorts again, I promise!  Looking at those inspiring fashionista’s make you want to shop shop shop! But before you head out to the mall or run to your PC to shop online, here are some tips to help you save some coins.

1.  Research Designers

The first thing you want to do is a little research on various designers of choice. Though some of them can be way out of your price range, many of them offer their products through affordable vendors (such as DSW, Zappos, Amazon etc.).

2.  Look for Coupons

I can’t stress how many times coupons have helped me afford shoes, clothes, accessories etc. that is both of high quality and affordable. Your best bet is to look around for coupons for designers or clothing stores you’re interested in. There are lots of online coupons that can be used for additional savings. My go to APP for finding coupons is “RetailMeNot”. You can also consider following the designer, boutiques etc. on social media as they may offer discounts to their followers as a means to earn new business.

3.  Look for Buy One Get One Deals

Another way to get clothes and shoes that you really love at a price you can afford is to look for ‘buy one get one’ deals. This is when you can purchase one item and get another for free or for a very affordable price. While paying $200 for a good pair of shoes may not seem feasible, getting two pairs of shoes at $200 or $150 seems more practical.

4.  Look for Shipping Discounts

If you’re purchasing items online shipping costs can factor into how much you can spend. Rather than spend money on the shipping costs you can look for vendors who offer discounted or free shipping on your purchases. Many online vendors will offer you free shipping if you’re going to spend more than $50-$100 on a purchase. This could save you anywhere from $10-20 on your purchase (if not more).

5. Shop Off Season

I’m a clearance sale queen. Especially when it comes to coats! I love being able to find great fashions that I want at an affordable price. When the season is just about ending, head to your favorite store and buy up any fashions you really like.

I’m telling you, your favorite items will be marked down as the vendors are trying to get rid of their inventory to make room for the new styles. You can save as much as 50-75% on the cost of your purchase.
